CaterXpress Cost Pricing

Cost Pricing is one of the most valuable tasks you can perform when creating or updating a menu, as it provides visibility over the cost of your items, and the profit margin you will make. However, the process of calculating cost prices can be difficult and time consuming without the right tools.

The CaterXpress Cost Pricing module is a specially designed function that allows you to not only know how much to sell your products for, but also how much profit you are making.

Using a fast, simple and accurate method for calculating cost prices, up to date records of all your ingredients and recipes can be generated. Furthermore, you can analyse trends using the export function.

How does it work?

To begin with you enter your list of ingredients, which can be grouped for easy searching. Unit amounts and the cost of each ingredient can be updated at any time, to keep up to date with current invoices from your suppliers.

Your products are then easily “built” from your list of ingredients, by specifying how much of each ingredient you use per product. CaterXpress then calculates the percentage of cost used for each ingredient, supplying you with the Cost Price for each product. When calculating costs you can also include staff wages and overheads, this allows you to get the most accurate look at your costing.

As the price of ingredients changes, simply update the ingredients to the new price and every product that contains that ingredient will be automatically updated.

As orders are placed into CaterXpress, reports can be generated on what ingredients are needed for a day. This allows you to reduce wastage from over ordering and check to make sure you have enough stock available.

With the price rises for fresh fruit and vegetables it is difficult to know if you are selling products for the correct price. With the CaterXpress Cost Price module you have the tools to take the hard work out of product pricing.
